New Wave New York Basquiat Journal

This hardcover journal features Basquiat's 'New York New Wave' on the cover and an elastic band attached at the back to hold the book closed.

This early work by Jean-Michel Basquiat, 'New York/New Wave,' was first exhibited at the seminal group exhibition at the MoMA P.S.1 gallery in 1981 that was also titled "New York/New Wave". Basquiat designed this promotional graffiti sign for the exhibition, which featured more than 100 artists from the avant-garde New Wave scene, including Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. The exhibition is credited with launching Basquiat's career.
